• The history of SKA began back in 1946, when the all-Union Committee on physical culture and sports decided to hold the USSR championship in canadian hockey.

It was then that the clubs that are now the oldest in Russia were formed - Spartak, CSKA, Dynamo and SKA.

Initially, SKA did not achieve much success and in their first match against the air force MVO lost with a score of 3: 7.

A bit later (1950) club was renamed in "Leningrad House officers" (LDO) and returned in category elite, where and remained until 1991.

In 1957, the team again changed its name to" military district Sports club " (Squaw), and two years later acquired the name - SKA.

In the history of the club army managed to win 4 times

tournament Spengler Cup, twice medals of the USSR championship (bronze), continental Cup (2013), Gagarin Cup (2014-2015), Opening Cup (2017-2018), become the champion of Russia, set two records of the KHL (20 wins at the start of the season), 20 consecutive wins in the regular season, win the Continental Cup and take 1st place in the regular season.
